The women’s varsity basketball team will take on Heritage Christian, the defending champion, on Jan. 10 at 6 p.m. in the Welch Activity Center in the semifinal round of the City tournament. In the second semifinal at 7:30, Bishop Chatard will play Covenant Christian. The two winners will play on Jan. 11 at 7:30 in the WAC for the City title.

The team advanced to the tournament’s final four by defeating Herron 75-30 and Cardinal Ritter 61-55.

During the regular season, the Irish played Heritage close throughout all four quarters, eventually losing 60-50.

In an email, Athletics Director Mr. Rick Streiff reminded students that their student IDs will not provide them with free admission to the City tournament, but students may pay $3 at the gate for admission.
