The members of the Class of 2019 have selected chemistry teacher Mr. Howard Fogel to serve as this year’s faculty/staff graduation speaker.

In an email, Fogel wrote, “I am very humbled (to be selected). It is so nice to know that the seniors believe you have a message worth sharing. If you know me it won’t surprise you that I teared up a little bit, and then I texted my son, Brandon, a member of the Class of 2014. I do have some thoughts about what I am going to say, but that would spoil the surprise. I do know the lacrosse girls are expecting a shout out.”

Fogle, who is in his 16th year as a member of the Cathedral High School faculty, also spoke at the Commencement ceremony for the Class of 2010.

Graduation will take place May 19 at 1 p.m. at the Old National Centre, formerly known as the Murat Shrine Temple, 502 N. New Jersey St. in Downtown Indianapolis.
