The National Honor Society induction ceremony will take place April 28 at 5 p.m. in the Welch Activity Center.

Mr. Joshua Payne-Elliott, one of the two faculty moderators, along with math teacher Mrs. Lisa Ford, said students can expect the ceremony to last about an hour. About attire for the event, he said, “It’s dress up, so ties and dresses.” Students being inducted into NHS are asked to arrive no later than 4:30.

Of the 129 students being inducted, four are seniors. Payne-Elliott said Dr. Thomas Greer will serve as the keynote speaker. Additionally, four seniors, Mary-Benning Cannon, Alex Koers, Brendan Hurley and Caroline Osler, will speak.

Payne-Elliott said, “It’s pretty simple. (New members) just get their name called and get their certificate.” He noted that the seniors who were inducted last year and who met their service hours requirement this year also will be recognized.

A list of the new members will be posted after the induction ceremony is completed.
