This year marks an exciting time for the choir program’s numerous choirs. With packed schedules this school year, concert choir, Irish Adrenaline, gospel choir and Irish Guys with Ties are busy preparing for performances.

The concert choir is a coeducational group that performs a varied repertoire of music that focuses on encompassing a broad spectrum of history and regions. Over the course of the school year, the choir will perform for a number of school functions and philanthropic organizations all over the United States.

This year’s season for the concert choir includes many opportunities, one of which will allow students to travel to Music City, otherwise known as Nashville, Tennessee. There the choir will get the chance to compete against and watch some of the nation’s best high school concert choirs. Domestic performances include the annual fund dinner and Evening of Excellence on Oct. 3, the Open House on Nov. 14 and the annual Christmas concert on Dec. 12.

The Irish Adrenaline Show Choir is an advanced women’s ensemble performing a variety of music genres at concerts throughout the school year. They travel and compete in nationwide competitions, performing practiced sets of song and choreographed dance.

In addition to preparing for the annual Christmas concert, show choir will also be traveling to various high schools all over Indiana for competitions featuring their set titled “Unite.” Under the direction of Mrs. Marian Bender, the group has chosen a set that conveys a strong message of uplifting women that they hope to spread during their competition season. These include Fishers Spotlight Competition on Feb. 1, Edgewood Contest of Champions on Feb. 8 and the Warren Central Circle City Showcase on Feb. 22. The final competition will take place at the Heart of America Festival in Nashville during the choir tour on March 7.

Gospel choir, along with a band, performs various genres of music, with a greater emphasis on gospel music throughout the year. They are known across the city for their talent and are recognized for sharing their gift of gospel music all across the Indianapolis area.

On top of a number of community outreach performances, this group will be featured at the Nov. 1 All Saints Mass and will accompany Irish Adrenaline and concert choir at the annual fund dinner and Evening of Excellence. They will likewise bring their energy and praise to the annual Christmas concert.

Irish Guys With Ties is the school’s newest choir. It is an all-male a capella group composed of grades 9 through 12. The guys sing a variety of music that they prepare during their weekly flex period rehearsal. This group of men are a crowd favorite at the annual Christmas concert.
