Every year, Student Council hosts the Trail of Terror in order to provide for kids at the Msamaria Center for Street Children in Tanzania, and this Halloween-themed event will take place Oct. 15.

The Trail of Terror is a haunted walk around the campus. There are two different times, depending on the scary level of each. The frightless hours are from 6 to 7 p.m. while the frightful hours are from 7 to 9 p.m. During the frightless hours, kids can come and trick-or-treat. After, older students come and walk the trail while volunteers jump out and scare them.

Senior Kendrick Mernitz serves on the Student Council, which plans the event every year. Mernitz said “Usually the football players will come after their practice.”

Mernitz said there are about 25 volunteers, although the number varies every year. Last year, there was a crowd of 250 people who came down to help give kids of all ages a good time.

Although the Trail of Terror does not cost, participants can donate to the orphanage to help kids in need in Tanzania.
