Power outage affects Kelly Hall
School dismissal time will not change
Emergency lighting kept the main hall in Kelly somewhat illuminated during a power outage on Oct. 28.

School will not be dismissed early. Students will stay in their B period classes and be dismissed at the usual time of 3:10 p.m.
As of 2 p.m. on Oct. 28, a power outage was continuing to affect Kelly Hall, but classes are meeting there. In the Kelly Hall bathrooms, which have no access to natural light, administrators and teachers are providing flashlights and supervising bathrooms.
As of 2 p.m., no decision had been announced regarding the multicultural assembly, which was scheduled to begin at 2:10 p.m. in the Welch Activity Center, which also was without power.
Loretto and Cunningham halls had power and were not affected. B period classes meeting in those two rooms were being held there at the end of the period.
The school does have a back-up generator that provides power for essential areas such as the secured and locked outside doors, emergency lighting and wifi.
